Recovering and cross-referencing scattered private folders against institutional archives. Often the catalogue is wrong before the manuscript is. I draft notes that flag the gap rather than paper it over.
Contract research and copy work for small archives and history publishers. Mostly footnotes, source verification, transcription of ledger hands, and unromantic clean-up of finding aids.
Slow re-indexing of a private plantation-records collection later donated to a regional archive. Most of the labour is choosing what counts as a name and which spelling to anchor to.
